Created in the 70’s, NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming) is all about making changes at the unconscious level – so the change in your thinking becomes automatic – you do not have to consciously think about it or remember to behave or think differently (it’s a lot faster at fixing the issue) . Both counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) help the individual to gain a conscious understanding of the problem initially by talking through the detail with myself as a NLP practitioner – whereas NLP dosen’™t always require you to share at length or work on problems openly in order to unleash your potential for it to be successful (which many people prefer). As long as you share enough, I will be able to help you fix the problem (providing you follow my instructions). NLP offers a ‘toolkit’ of techniques and a mindset that is based on the study of human excellence.  NLP offers solutions for people, is very practical and enables changes to be made quickly

Put simply, coaching is a process that aims to improve performance and focuses on the ‘here and now’ rather than on the distant past or future. While there are many different models of coaching, here we are not considering the ‘coach as expert’ but, instead, the coach as a facilitator of learning. There is a huge difference between teaching someone and helping them to learn. In coaching, fundamentally, the coach is helping you  to improve their own performance: in other words, helping them to learn.


Coaching involves the belief that the individual has the answers to their own problems within them. The coach is not a subject expert, but rather is focused on helping the individual to unlock their own potential. The focus is very much on the individual and what is inside their head. The key skill of coaching is asking the right questions to help the individual work through their own issues to find the anserw.
